One of Melbourne's most charismatic and well-known jazz pianists, Steve will perform with his trio; James Clark (bass) and Andrew Swann (drums) featuring special guest AXLE WHITEHEAD!. These outstanding musicians have performed together numerous times over many years and bring to the stage a unique chemistry, ensuring a show. Axle is is a brilliant vocalist & performer, his shows always highlight his eclectic tastes & versatility. A little jazz, maybe even a little country & western!

Steve has made a vital and indelible imprint on the Melbourne jazz scene for close to four decades. One of Melbourne's most charismatic and well-known jazz pianists, he is renowned for his warm, authentic and inviting style. He has played major festivals and music clubs across the country. As a composer and recording artist he has released several highly acclaimed CD's, which reflect his creative evolution.

Axle Whitehead is APRA nominated vocalist and accomplished performer, TV presenter and actor both here and in the US, but it's music where his heart really lies and he always looks forward to getting back on stage with Steve, Andrew & James.

Steve and Axle have played together numerous times over the years at clubs like Bennett's Lane, Dizzy's and The Basement in Sydney. Whilst in USA Axle played famous venues such as The Green Mill in Chicago and the Baked Potato in LA between acting jobs.

This will be a night that shows Axle’s eclectic taste drawing from many different styles of music. Expect to enjoy jazz and popular funky tunes from Vince Jones and Kurt Elling to Amy Winehouse and Jeff Buckley, together with a few originals.
