About:

The 1960’s and 70’s produced some of music’s finest songsmiths and lyricists. The Carpenters are no exception, releasing a string of worldwide smash hits from the late Sixties and well into the Eighties, and their beautifully crafted melodic pop songs endure to this day.

Karen Carpenter possessed the voice of an angel and provided the soundtrack to many of our lives.

In celebration of 50 years since the Carpenters first release, Laura Davidson and band recreate their magical sound - performing classics such as “Close To You”, “Top Of The World”, “Yesterday Once More”, “We’ve Only Just Begun”, “Superstar”, “For All We Know”, and many, many more. Laura is known as a ‘Musical Chameleon’ among her peers and fans. Starring as lead vocalist in Bob Starkie’s Skyhooks show, playing Frida in the world’s most popular tribute show, BJÖRN AGAIN, embodying Bon Scott in AC/DSHE - all the while loving to sing Jazz ballads the most!

In Laura’s words, “the first time I ever heard the Carpenters I was completely drawn in by their lush harmonies and exquisite arrangements, though always thought it might be too difficult to replicate that sound and really do it justice. Turns out it WAS so difficult, but we’ve done it and done quite well!”

With a varying ensemble featuring Angus Burchall (Farnham band), Brett Wolfenden (The Casanova’s), Mitch Cairns (Leo Sayer), Jeremy Diffey (Yacht Rock Revival) and Ally McNaughton (Ally Mac), Laura proudly brings her dream to life in a two-hour show that will take you back to that golden age of popular music. After selling shows out throughout 2019 celebrating The Carpenters’ 50th Anniversary, this promises to be a show not to be missed.
