Ernest Aines is a contemporary Indie folky songwriter from Melbourne. His new band plays his award-winning songs, so far at a few regional shows and Port Fairy Folk Festival stages, where they were met by an appreciative audience.
Weekend Notes writes "Port Fairy Folk Festival highlights, Ernest Aines is one to watch - multi-award-winning contemporary folk singer-songwriter delivers with eloquent wordplay. Along with Archie Roach, Ernest was an artist I was lucky to experience".
Comparions to James Taylor, Ray Lamontagne, Bon Iver, Johnny Lang and Jeff Buckley have been made as people try to put their finger on his style - but what is easy to see is the inspired and truthful earnestness, the delivery of the songs that connect people and the intricate and beautiful acoustic sounds and guitar stylings.
Ernest Aines plays solo and in other configurations - his new band comprises of young Jake Skellern on guitar and vocals, Kat Ades (Vance Joy Band) on bass and vocals and Steve Gijsbers on drums. The impending release of second album single "Yellowstone" will commence a round of gigs in Melbourne and regionally and the following album release will open up touring in Victoria and beyond.
A Live Virtual Showcase spot at the International Folk Alliance in May will preceded more festival bookings coming up ( in the ACT and The Sunshine Coast) in 2022.
Booking enquiries welcome.
