About:
Acclaimed Melbourne singer Raleigh Williams pays homage to the iconic Dusty Springfield in a captivating performance.
Renowned for her soulful voice and diverse musical background, Williams expertly interprets both beloved and obscure tunes of one of her greatest influences.
Dusty Springfield, a pivotal figure in 50's-60's blue-eyed soul, possessed a mezzo-soprano voice that blended vulnerability with formidable power. Williams, a versatile artist, has showcased her vocal prowess in various musical collaborations, including ARIA-winning Cookin’ on 3 Burners, La Nuit Blanche and Women of Soul.
Accompanied by pianist Nathan Liow and a dynamic 9-piece band, Williams delivers soulful renditions of classics like "You Don't Have to Say You Love Me" and "The Look of Love."
The performance is a seamless fusion of Williams' honeyed voice and Liow's innovative arrangements, capturing the essence of Dusty's music. Beyond Dusty's well-known hits, the show unveils hidden gems like Dusty's big-band version of "Sunny" and the French classic "Ne Me Quitte Pas."
The ensemble's collective experience brings to life Dusty Springfield's music, soul, and untold stories, creating an intimate, uplifting, and highly entertaining musical experience.
